- Financing - DHI can assist in the determination of the financial needs of an organization, and in developing a funding
package for presentation to banks or investors.
- Interim Management - If an organization is in need of
a person to temporarily oversee its operation, then DHI may be an appropriate partner. While the staff may be capable of
functioning on a day to day basis, having oversight by an individual with management experience may make sense. Circumstances
such as extended vacations, hospitalization, or personal leaves of absence would be examples. Also, in the case of the death
of the chief executive, an interim manager may be beneficial to help oversee a business while determination of its future
is made (e.g. sale, liquidation, or hiring and training a replacement). Also falling under this category are turnaround and
workout situations, where the best outcome is a realistic plan for the long term viability of the company.
- Targeted
Projects - Small organizations frequently are understaffed. There is more to do than the CEO has time for. There are a myriad
of projects that are important but not urgent, and often there is not anyone to whom the task can be delegated, either for
lack of perspective ("the big picture") or time or experience. DHI may be able to help with those projects, easing the burden
and helping the organization to prosper. For example, development and implementation of collection procedures, solicitation
of competative bids from suppliers, or determining a viable retirement plan for employees.
- Sounding Board
- Many business managers do not have anyone with whom they feel comfortable discussing their problems, ideas, and objectives.
Attorneys and accountants can give excellent advice in their areas of expertise, but usually they do not have experience
in operating an organization. DHI can provide an unbiased perspective from someone who has also run a small business, and
keep the conversation confidential. Whether the idea is about acquiring a business, selling one, or purchasing a piece of
equipment, for example, DHI can give you an honest response.
